We are thrilled to announce that Resonance’s Homelessness Property Funds Social Impact Report 2021/2022 has won “Best Impact Report” at this year’s Pensions For Purpose Content Awards.
The submissions for this award were assessed on their originality, educational value, presentation and relevance for pension funds. Impact-related awards needed to evidence positive intentional impact, which the assessors agreed features prominently in our Homelessness Property Funds Social Impact Report 2021/2022.
The ceremony
The awards ceremony was hosted in London in late November, as part of Pensions For Purpose’s Annual Stakeholder & Awards Event. Paul Handford, Resonance Communications Director and Gary Walker, Resonance Head of Investors Relations attended the event, which was an all-day event with the theme “impact integration” in investment solutions as well as the way businesses operate. The theme explored how organisations and individuals impact society and the environment, whilst discussing how these impacts should be measured within the operations of a business, with the goal of mitigating any negative impacts in the pursuit of positive ones.
During the day, attendees heard from companies within the pension fund investment chain, discovering new and innovative answers to current environmental and social issues. The format of the day included various presentations, case studies, panel discussions, audience polling, Q&As plus plenty of networking breaks for participants to engage and share experiences with one another. Sessions included ‘What makes a better business?’ from Madeleine Cobb, Schroders and ‘The Paris Alignment panel, innovative thinking – net-zero journeys for pension funds’.

The report
Our Homelessness Property Funds Social Impact Report 2021/2022 highlighted the impact achieved by our five homelessness property funds from 1 Apr 2021 to 31 March 2022.
The report covers an uncertain period of time, when the nation was recovering from the worst of the pandemic’s effects and the first signs of the impending cost-of-living crisis were becoming apparent. The report examined the extent to which tenants had recovered from the long-term consequences of the pandemic, other global events, and the initiatives and pledges made by the funds to continue supporting tenants during trying times.
A significant element of the report covered our two more recent property funds: Resonance Everyone In Fund (REIF) and National Homelessness Property Fund 2 (NHPF2), both began deploying and were successful in handing over properties to their housing partners which are now providing safe and affordable homes for tenants. NHPF2 expanded its geographic reach into a number of regions including London, the South West, South East and North West, enabling it to address regional and more local housing needs and to deliver positive local impact. So, despite the numerous challenges tenants faced during the reporting period, the funds provided a stable base for people across the country.
The positive impact our homelessness property funds deliver is evidenced most clearly in our tenant stories. In the report, five of our tenants Matt, Julie, Paul, Cliff and Steve, kindly share their personal and different experiences of homelessness, and the difference a safe and stable home has made to their lives.
A final word
Paul Handford, Resonance Communications Director gave his view: “This award is a fantastic recognition of the work of Resonance and Housing Partners who have worked extremely hard to provide safe and affordable homes and reported on the positive impacts and outcomes that our homelessness property funds deliver. I am extremely grateful to our tenants Matt, Julie, Paul, Cliff, and Steve who shared their personal, honest and emotional experiences of homelessness with us and the difference their new homes are having on their lives.”
