HOMELESSNESS PROPERTY FUNDS SOCIAL IMPACT REPORT 2023/24
Resonance has won a national award for its work tackling homelessness alongside Developing Health & Independence, a social inclusion charity headquartered in Bath.
The Better Society ‘Partnership with a Local Charity’ accolade was awarded to the two organisations for their holistic approach and collaboration in providing homes and support to 270 adults and 253 children in Bristol.
The partnership began in response to the city’s housing crisis, where almost 3,000 people are living in temporary accommodation - a crisis echoed up and down the country.
Families and individuals supported by Resonance’s National Homelessness Property Funds have been provided with a home and wraparound support thanks to finance provided by socially minded investors.
The award was presented at a Better Society Awards ceremony in London this week, which was attended by representatives from organisations around the country who are working to create a better, more equal, ethical and sustainable world for all.
Rosie Phillips, CEO of DHI, said “We are delighted to receive this recognition with Resonance as it is impossible to estimate the positive impact of social investment, especially when considering the lifelong impact it has on a child.
“Having a place to call home enables people to put down roots, establish connections, and become stable enough to address other challenges they may be facing.”
Resonance CEO Daniel Brewer added his support: “Our work with DHI is making a real difference to hundreds of people in Bristol and is something we really want to build on.
“There is still lots to be done to tackle homelessness and we are committed to working with our charity partners to play a part in providing sustainable solutions.”
DHI specialises in helping those experiencing disadvantage including poverty, relationship breakdown, unemployment, discrimination, poor health or problematic substance use.
It also offers person-centred, holistic support to help them overcome their problems and achieve their goals.
Backed by social investment, Resonance buys and refurbishes properties in local communities, close to local facilities and public transport, giving families and individuals the stability they need to rebuild their lives.
