Ben Wrigley From Resonance’s Community Assets Team talks about the Mustard Seed Property Community Share Offer and explains why now is a great time to invest.  

Over Half Way
It’s official, the latest Mustard Seed Property (MSP) community share offer has passed the half way mark having raised £310,000 of the £600,0000 target. Despite the challenging times we are facing, people are continuing to invest and the teams at Resonance and MSP are absolutely delighted that the plans they have for providing more forever homes for vulnerable people in Cornwall are nearer than ever.

Part of the money raised so far will allow MSP to complete the refurbishment of the property it purchased in Redruth on behalf of Karrek Community CIC. The building once transformed, will provide supported, co-living accommodation for six of the vulnerable individuals with learning difficulties that Karrek supports.

We’re also on our way to the purchase of another property for a charity partner based in Newquay, which offers support to those recovering from substance abuse. There are so many more people that MSP wants to support – so reaching the full target is more important than ever.

Why You Benefit From Investing Now
Match funding of £50,000 from the Architectural Heritage Fund helped us reach our first milestone and we are confident of further match funding this month. This means that for every £1 invested by the community, MSP will aim to match it £1 for £1, until the full target of £600k is achieved.

That’s one really good reason why now is a great time for community investors to take the plunge – your investment could be doubled with matched funding! But there’s another compelling reason, which is that if you invest by 30 September, you will start to earn interest from 1 October as investments made by that date are included in this financial year. MSP has paid interest to investors every year for over a decade – and continues to offer a financial return to community investors in uncertain times.
