The Real Lettings Property Fund has received the “Highly Commended” award in the Social Investment Deal of the Year category at the UK Social Enterprise Awards.

The Fund was launched by Resonance earlier this year in partnership with London homelessness charity Broadway, to help homeless people access private rented accommodation. 

The awards were hosted by Social Enterprise UK on Wednesday evening at LSO St.Lukes in London, and brought together a host of social enterprises from across the UK to celebrate achievements in a wide range of fields, including health and social care, education and the environment.

Fifteen judges representing leading figures from the social enterprise sector assessed the awards. The Social Investment Deal category was a very strong field including CAF Venturesome, Golden Lane Housing and Drumlin Wind Energy Coop.

Although our friends at Big Issue Invest pipped us to the post for the overall category award on the night, the “Highly Commended” award for Real Lettings Property Fund was a strong endorsement from the judges, not used in every category.

Best of all we were able to celebrate, and spread the word about, the ongoing success of the Fund in addressing the needs of some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society through social investment.

The Fund is now successfully acquiring properties around London which fit both its financial criteria and also work for the needs of Broadway’s tenants, delivering real social impact alongside a traditional property investment. This is testament to the continued hard work of everyone on the Broadway and Resonance team who are together delivering great results.
