Prosperity Hub Community Interest Company (CIC) has today received an investment of £70,000 from the Resonance Health and Wellbeing Challenge Fund, an impact led investment fund focusing on social enterprises in the South West. Prosperity Hub CIC provides bespoke training and mentoring services to support both young people and adults get back into education and employment across Cornwall.
Prosperity Hub CIC work with long-term unemployed, NEET (not in employment, education or training) young people and ex-offenders to access education and employment opportunities that they are unable to on their own. Prosperity Hub CIC have a strong track record in delivering positive results for the people they support both in terms of averting negative health outcomes and unlocking their potential to ‘prosper’.
Veryan Young, Investment Manager at Resonance:
“To date, Prosperity Hub CIC organization has enriched the lives of over 300 young individuals, through employment and enterprise hubs, young enterprise programmes, digital skills training, work preparation, money management training, and basic English and Maths qualifications. The team are hugely experienced, energetic and enthusiastic. It’s been a pleasure working with them to date and we look forward to our future collaboration.”
There is increasing recognition of the negative impact unemployment has on people’s health and wellbeing. Prosperity Hub CIC understand this and act to support people to positively manage their mental and physical health as they transition back into work.
Carolyn Boyce, CEO of Prosperity Hub CIC:
“It’s not practical or sensible to continue to expect the National Health Service to fix our health crises when they can so often be avoided by simple early interventions supporting people to help themselves. We see the advantage and potential when so many others have labelled the people we support as disadvantaged. It’s called Advantage Thinking and it comes naturally to us social entrepreneurs”
Prosperity Hub CIC goes further still and helps not only the individuals, but also the colleges and businesses that have the courage to believe in their programmes and the potential of the individuals who go through them.
The Investment will enable Prosperity Hub CIC to extend its reach across Cornwall and within two years on its current trajectory be operating at scale, sustainably.
Veryan Young:
“Prosperity Hub CIC is just the sort of organization that the Resonance Health & Wellbeing Challenge Fund would like to invest in, so if your organization is offering innovative and impactful solutions to the challenges faced by the Health Sector in the South West, we would like to hear from you.”
