The annual Health & Wellbeing Challenge Fund (South West) Marketplace Celebration was held as a ‘virtual’ event at the beginning of January. The event, which connects social enterprises with the Fund’s investors, and provides an opportunity for learning and networking, was also the occasion when the third social impact report was revealed.
The report shares the stories of the near thirty health and wellbeing social enterprises that are delivering social impact throughout their communities in the South West. The team is delighted to share the impact based on the outcomes reported for the period to March 2020 - £2.9m investment into 34 social enterprises, supporting 31,747 people.
It has been an incredibly difficult year, with demands on social enterprises ever greater due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but against that backdrop so many of the social enterprises have adapted and been flexible, in order to continue to deliver to those in need.
The Fund has been made possible thanks to backing by Big Society Capital, The National Lottery Communities Fund (delivered by Access Foundation), and the South West Academic Health Science Network.
