This month Resonance welcomes a new Investment Director to its team.

Simon Chisholm joins Resonance from N M Rothschild & Sons. His primary role will be to establish and manage a number of impact investment funds, which is a key focus of Resonance’s plans to help build a robust and accessible impact investment market.

Before joining Resonance, Simon spent 16 years in a number of roles with N M Rothschild & Sons in the UK and internationally. Latterly, as a Director, he provided advice to senior management teams on finance raising and strategic transactions predominantly in the infrastructure and energy sectors. He also has first-hand experience of social enterprise and impact investment through 4 years as a Non-Exec Director for a pioneering London-based homelessness charity.

Simon is keen to take on this new challenge with Resonance: “I believe there is a clear demand for alternative products to help social enterprises scale up and achieve sustainable business models. Institutional investors, trusts and others are also looking for new investment opportunities with commercial returns and clear social impact. I look forward to developing products to bring the two together.”

His extensive commercial investment experience will be a real asset as we embark on the next phase of our growth plans, to build a range of focused impact funds.” Resonance is assisting Community Land & Finance CIC with the development of two funds, one to underwrite community share issues and the second to provide finance to community groups for affordable rental housing.

It has also recently developed a more ambitious £45m fund for Broadway, a charity providing housing for the homeless in London.
