Previously known as Community Mentoring and Support CiC (CMAS), we are delighted to share the exciting news that one of Resonance's South West Social Investment Tax Relief Fund investees has announced its new name, Belong Learning. Their new name and brand perfectly reflects the aims of this fantastic organisation: to meet the needs of children and young people, working with their families.
Belong Learning was formed as CMAS in 2013, operating as a Community Interest Company, with its services in high demand from schools, providing alternative educational provision services for local authorities and community-based outreach and intervention for schools. This has grown, as Belong Learning has focussed its offers on providing education to support vulnerable children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), autism and anxiety needs.
James Evans, Belong Learning's CEO said:
“Having formed in 2013 and implemented new leadership in 2018, social enterprise CMAS CiC is pleased to announce a significant step on its rapid growth journey as it relaunches as Belong Learning and adopts a new brand identity.
“Belong Learning’s new logo, created from a competition including staff and children and crafted by the skill and expertise of Ralph Media team, embodies the vision of the newly named company and its Belong School in Devon and Gloucestershire; to focus on the emotional well-being and mental health of its children while also ensuring academic challenge and opportunity with a wide curriculum that is ambitious for children and enables them to achieve and progress when they leave school.
“The relaunch process follows a significant period of growth for the organisation that includes a successful capital injection in February this year, through Social Investment partners, Resonance, to support further developing our provisions, including the opening of a fantastic new school site in Exeter.
“Every one of us needs to belong; it is a core human necessity at all stages of life. It has always been this organisation’s vision to provide vulnerable children and young people with opportunity to remain included, both in schools and in their communities and Belong Learning is a new chapter for us to continue to work to disrupt exclusion and meet the unmet needs of individual children within a learning environment. Belong Schools embrace diversity and truly equip their children with the confidence and skills to realise their value and thrive within their wider community. Building on the successes of the last seven years we see this as an exciting next stage of our journey and I look forward to seeing Belong Learning come to life and have a meaningful impact that permeates through our schools and enables transformation in our children.”
