Broadhempston Families Start Building Their Own Affordable Homes - Resonance

The Broadhempston Community Land Trust was set up four years ago to enable local residents in need of housing to self-build affordable homes.

The project, which received a loan from the Resonance Affordable Homes Rental Fund, has commenced with local families and couples in the process of building their new homes.

The homes will remain as affordable with the CLT retaining 25% ensuring that the community will be able to provide for local people that would not otherwise be able to afford to remain in their communities. BBC Spotlight covered the start of the building on 13 April 2015.
