About Stockport Homes
Stockport Homes is a not-for-profit housing provider managing more than 12,000 homes on behalf of Stockport Council, private landlords and its own growing portfolio of properties. Alongside providing quality, affordable housing, the organisation delivers a range of services that help people sustain tenancies, improve wellbeing and build stronger, more resilient communities.
Through employment support, money advice, home improvements and health and wellbeing initiatives, Stockport Homes is committed to creating safe, sustainable homes where people can thrive.
Our partnership
Since 2020, Stockport Homes has partnered with Resonance through the National Homelessness Property Fund 2 to increase the supply of affordable housing across Stockport and East Manchester.
Together, the fund has acquired a mix of one, two and three-bedroom homes for families, couples and individuals on local housing registers, alongside dedicated one-bedroom homes through the Rough Sleepers Accommodation Programme (RSAP) for people who have experienced homelessness. These homes provide the stability and security people need to rebuild their lives and establish long-term roots within their communities.
Impact
Together, Resonance and Stockport Homes have helped increase the supply of affordable homes for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity at a time when demand continues to outstrip supply.
More than providing a place to live, the partnership is helping people build stable futures. Safe, secure housing gives tenants the foundation to establish roots in their communities, while access to employment support, financial advice and wellbeing services helps them sustain their tenancies and move forward with confidence.
By combining social investment with Stockport Homes' housing and community expertise, the partnership is creating lasting opportunities for people to achieve greater independence, stability and long-term security.
