About Stand Against Violence
Stand Against Violence (SAV) is a charity dedicated to preventing violence and helping young people make positive life choices through education, awareness and early intervention. Founded in memory of Lloyd Fouracre, the charity delivers interactive workshops and assemblies in schools, youth centres and community settings across England and Wales.
Its programmes explore topics including peer pressure, knife crime, bullying, mental health, substance misuse and healthy relationships, helping young people build confidence, develop empathy and understand the consequences of violence.
Our investment
The Health & Wellbeing Challenge Fund invested £30,000 in Stand Against Violence in 2022 to expand its business training services.
The investment strengthened the charity's capacity to reach more schools, communities and organisations, enabling it to deliver violence prevention programmes and professional training to a wider audience.
Impact
Through the expansion of its services, Stand Against Violence has equipped more young people and professionals with the skills to prevent violence, resolve conflict and make safer, more informed decisions.
Recent impact data shows that 88% of young participants reported a better understanding of the consequences of violence, while more than 70% said they felt more confident making safe, informed choices. Many also reported a positive shift away from carrying weapons or engaging in other risky behaviours.
By combining social investment with preventative education, the partnership is helping to build safer communities by giving young people the confidence, resilience and knowledge to make positive life choices.
