About Salix Homes
Salix Homes is a not-for-profit housing provider managing over 8,000 homes across Salford, including tower blocks, estates and sheltered housing. Established following a stock transfer from Salford City Council, the organisation reinvests its income into homes, services and community initiatives.
With a strong focus on customer voice, building safety and community investment, Salix Homes is committed to providing quality, affordable housing and improving residents’ lives. It also works with specialist partners to support employment, training and personal development opportunities that help strengthen local communities.
Our partnership
Since 2020, Salix Homes has partnered with Resonance through the National Homelessness Property Fund 2 to increase access to safe, affordable housing for people in housing need.
Through the fund, a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom homes has been acquired and brought into use across Salford and Greater Manchester, alongside 1-bedroom homes supporting people who have experienced homelessness through the Rough Sleepers Accommodation Programme (RSAP). These homes provide stable accommodation in areas where people can access local services, employment opportunities and community networks.
Impact
Together, Resonance and Salix Homes have helped increase the supply of safe, affordable housing for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity at a time when demand continues to outstrip supply.
Through long-term social investment, the partnership has enabled people to move into secure homes where they can rebuild stability and begin to plan for the future. Access to safe housing has provided the foundation for improved wellbeing, greater independence and stronger connections to local communities.
