SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
ABOUT: Reside With Progress, based in Tunbridge Wells, is a housing association that provide high quality housing and supported living services to people with complex needs such as autism and learning difficulties. Their mission is to enable people to be able to live independently, leading to greater levels of independence and wellbeing as well as the opportunity to be involved in community-based living. This benefits the tenants involved because they are given freedom and independence while also being offered tailored, individual support, meaning that tenants can live in suitable accommodation while also being able to access as much or as little assistance as they desire. In the last year, Reside Housing have supported 168 new tenants and they currently own over 1,400 properties.
PURPOSE OF PARTNERSHIP:
By purchasing, refurbishing, and adapting residential properties across the UK, the fund enables Reside With Progress to provide more people with learning disabilities and autism with tailored, person-focused support and an opportunity to live their lives with independence. This means that more people will no longer have to live in unsuitable accommodation and instead move into supported homes of their choice, fitting their specific needs.
An important aspect of this partnership is that tenants will be involved in choosing the home that best suits their requirements. For example, they might choose to live to live alone or with friends - other tenants - and they might choose to live in shared or self-contained accommodation.

Housing Support Manager: “Having his own unique home with the right support has completely changed P’s life. He has reconnected with his parents and grandparents, and he regularly goes out into the community to enjoy a range of hobbies and interests. All his communications with support staff are face-to-face, and the barriers and restrictions which were in place in hospital have been removed. This has been one of the most transformational changes I’ve witnessed during my career, and on a personal and professional level it has been extremely satisfying.”
