ABOUT: Founders Ewan and Adi both knew they wanted to be social entrepreneurs – Ewan even moved back in with his grandparents while trying to start a social enterprise, and realised they had everyday issues that could be solved through updated technology. Now, as AE Partners trading as Your Stride, Ewan and Adi run the tech company aiming to support older people to live fuller lives. It has developed a personal alarm watch that enables older people to make emergency calls anywhere at any time. As 48% of falls happen outside the home, the goal is to provide peace of mind and allow people to venture outside and engage fully with their community. The watch works without the need of a smartphone app or landline. It helps customers stay active through measuring daily steps, heart rate and blood pressure.

PURPOSE OF INVESTMENT: This investment from the Health and Wellbeing Challenge Fund enabled the purchasing of inventory, along with supporting the social enterprise with working capital, as the organisation moves from product development into their scale up phase. This investment will allow Your Stride to continue to remove some of the barriers that keep older people from going out because older technologies do not provide assistance outside the home.
