WHAT THEY DO: Nacro is a national social justice charity with more than 50 years’ experience in changing lives, building stronger communities and reducing crime. Nacro helps around 32,000 people each year. It is also a leading registered social landlord and charity that has experience in housing people sleeping rough in London.

PARTNERSHIP PURPOSE: Resonance Everyone In Fund has partnered with Nacro with the intention of purchasing and leasing affordable homes, housing rough sleepers in London.

ABOUT: Nacro is a London based social Landlord charity, helps around 32,000 people each year with their provision of various services such as criminal record support, substance misuse support and education and learning services, however, their biggest focus is on housing. Currently there are more people rough sleeping in London than before the pandemic, so it has become more crucial than ever that rough sleepers are moved into affordable housing. PURPOSE OF PARTNERSHIP: The Resonance Everyone In Fund (REIF) partnered with Nacro in March 2021 with the aim of providing housing for rough sleepers in London, reducing the rates of homelessness. REIF supports Nacro by leasing them properties making sure that tenants receive support for up to four years.
The Resonance Everyone In Fund:
Nacro is responsible for furnishing each property, ensuring its homeliness before people move in. And tenants are receiving individualised, wrap-around support to help them sustain their tenancies, make positive choices and rebuild their lives. This will enable more people to leave rough sleeping behind and live in supported accommodation.
Steve had been sleeping rough in London but in autumn 2021 was moved into one of the fund's homes alongside Nacro's specialist support services. In our film below, Steve talks about his experiences and how his new home “is the right place” for him.
