About Greater Manchester Community Led Homes
Greater Manchester Community Led Homes (GMCLH) is a Community Benefit Society working to increase the supply of community-led housing across Greater Manchester. The organisation supports local groups to develop affordable homes that are owned and managed by their communities, while helping community-led housing organisations become sustainable for the long term.
Today, GMCLH supports more than 24 active projects, including 12 new projects launched since the beginning of 2023, and works with a growing network of community shareholders, volunteers and local partners to create lasting housing solutions.
Our investment
Resonance Community Developers invested £50,000 to support the pre-development of community-led housing projects across Greater Manchester.
The investment has enabled GMCLH to strengthen strategic partnerships with local authorities, particularly in Oldham, where it is working with the council to identify and develop sites for future community-led housing. It has also supported the organisation's wider work to help communities take action on local housing needs.
Impact
By supporting early-stage development, Resonance has helped unlock opportunities for more community-led homes in Greater Manchester, creating long-term potential to increase the supply of affordable housing in areas where opportunities are often limited.
Today, GMCLH is supporting more than 24 active community-led housing projects, backed by over 60 community shareholders and more than 50 volunteers, helping local people shape the future of housing in their neighbourhoods.
Through social investment and community ownership, the partnership is empowering communities to take control of local housing challenges, creating affordable homes while building stronger, more resilient neighbourhoods for the future.
