About Blackbridge Community Land Trust
Blackbridge Community Land Trust was established by local residents to improve health, wellbeing and opportunities in Podsmead, Gloucestershire. In an area with some of the highest levels of physical inactivity in the county, the Trust has successfully delivered the Blackbridge Sports & Community Hub — a community-owned facility featuring a gym, fitness studio, meeting rooms, office space, community café, a full-size 3G sports pitch, landscaped green space and improved access infrastructure.
Our Investment
Resonance invested £100,000 through Community Land and Finance to support the early development of the project. The funding enabled Blackbridge Community Land Trust to carry out feasibility studies, planning and design work, site surveys and professional advice, helping the project progress from concept to delivery.
Our Impact
The new community hub is creating opportunities for local people of all ages to take part in sport, improve their wellbeing and connect with their community. By providing accessible facilities and flexible community spaces, the project is supporting healthier lifestyles, strengthening community cohesion and creating a lasting asset that will benefit Podsmead for years to come.
