About BH Support

BH Support is a community interest company providing practical advice and support to people experiencing housing, debt, unemployment, domestic abuse, child access and mobility issues. Alongside one-to-one guidance, the organisation operates as a community hub, food bank and drop-in centre, helping to reduce loneliness by connecting people with local services and community groups.

Through its community-based approach, BH Support helps people gain the knowledge, confidence and support they need to improve their wellbeing and build more independent lives.

Our investment

The Health & Wellbeing Challenge Fund invested in BH Support across two investments to help the organisation respond to growing demand for its services.

The first investment supported the expansion of the team, improvements to its premises and the development of its online support offer. A second investment provided working capital during a period of rapid growth, enabling BH Support to continue supporting more people while strengthening its long-term sustainability.

Impact

Resonance's investment has helped BH Support expand its reach and strengthen its role as a trusted community hub in Dorset.

By investing in both its physical and digital services, the organisation has been able to support more people facing housing, financial and social challenges, while ensuring advice and support remained accessible during periods of increased demand.

Through social investment, BH Support has grown its capacity to tackle loneliness, improve wellbeing and connect people with the practical support they need, creating a stronger and more resilient local community.

“At BH Support, we have not only built a great community resource for the residents of Bournemouth to access on the high street but have also developed an online platform for the community to get the support needed during all stages of COVID-19.
