Melanie and the other investment committee members analyse and assess the robustness of the social enterprise deals put forward for investment.
Melanie is Social Sector Engagement Director at Big Society Capital, leading a range of programmes to support social enterprises engage with social investment, including the 'Get SITR' programme, which provides specialist support to enable more organizations to utilize the Social Investment Tax Relief.
Previously Melanie was CEO at Social Enterprise West Midlands CIC (SEWM), a leading membership network established to grow the social enterprise sector across the region. She also ran a consultancy working with community organizations and charities to raise funds and develop sustainable income streams.
Outside of her day job she is also Social Enterprise Champion to Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP, Chair of Governors at a rural primary school and Trustee for the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NA/CA).
