Investment Analyst

Location: Bristol, UK

Term: Permanent

Salary: £30,000. Participation in Employee Benefit Trust after 12 months

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm

Responsible to: Simon Chisholm, Investment Director

Summary:

The Investment Analyst’s primary role will be to assist the Managing Director and Head of Ventures in the following areas:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working within the Ventures Team with a particular focus on (but not limited to) client and investor focused financial models
  • Assisting in the origination of clients for the Ventures Team, including (but not limited to) research, consultation and financial models
  • Assisting Resonance’s Head of Ventures and others with the financial analysis and preparation of client outputs and deliverables around governance, impact, market analysis, etc.
  • Helping to develop Resonance best practice in financial modelling across the business

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Taking part in meetings, conferences and events
  • Spotting patterns in our client’s activities that might lead to the creation of new opportunities
  • Promoting Resonance to social enterprises we might help and identification of potential clients
  • Developing relationships with investors and other partners
  • Assisting with reporting to Resonance’s management team and Board
  • Maintaining client confidentiality and complying with financial regulations and procedures
  • Deputising for other team members
  • Undertaking other duties as required

Essential experience and skills

  • Exceptional financial modelling capabilities and an aptitude for investment analysis
  • Genuine passion for social enterprise, innovation and change, and a desire to support it
  • The ability to understand, interpret, and explain financial and business documentation
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to spot opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong networking, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • The ability to be self-contained, self-motivated, and work independently, combined with a responsiveness to goals and performance targets
  • Strong values that match Resonance’s standards of ethics, professionalism, and integrity
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel

Desirable

  • Experience in investment analysis or management consultancy
  • FCA approval or other professional qualifications
  • Educated to degree levelAbout Resonance
  • Exposure to edals either as an investor, enterprise, or professional adviser
  • Experience of social enterprise, entrepreneurial business, or both
